1. Answer the quiz
Start with the spark for your next deck, then add colors or play style if you already know them. One answer is enough to get useful recommendations; each extra answer makes the shortlist more specific.
2. Tune your preferences
Add table experience, complexity, combo tolerance and mana value when you want the tool to filter closer to the games you actually want to play.
3. Compare commander types
Use the result tabs to compare single commanders, partner pairs, eligible planeswalkers and legal Vehicle or Spacecraft commanders.
4. Research before building
Open Scryfall or EDHREC from each result to check rules text, archetypes, decklists and upgrades before committing to cards.
5. How the match is built
The tool compares your answers with a local Commander dataset: color identity, supported archetypes, table profile, complexity, combo profile, mana value and legal commander type. Popularity can help break ties, but it is not the main signal.
6. How to read the shortlist
Affinity percentages and reasons are a starting point, not a verdict. Use them to compare directions, remove filters that feel too narrow and open card links before building or buying.
